About Dark Skies' Special Programming

Held as part of the multi‑day Dark Skies gathering, this community steam session provides shared sauna time designed to support rest, warmth, and presence. The experience is unstructured, allowing guests to move freely between heat, fresh air, and rest, following their own rhythm throughout the evening.

Steam rounds are gentle and ongoing, with occasional light aromatics. Time between rounds is unhurried, with space to cool down, hydrate, and step outside under the winter sky. Sauna hosts will be on site to maintain the flow of the session.

This sauna offering is one of several experiences taking place during Dark Sky, Star Bright, alongside night sky programs, creative workshops, and wellness‑focused activities spread across multiple days.

What’s included:
• 60 minute community steam sauna access
• Light aromatic steam
• Time and space for cooling and rest
• Lake-side bonfire for Star-gazing between rounds

What to bring:
• Towel
• Sandals or slip‑on footwear
• Robe for outdoor transitions
• Clearly marked water bottle

Bathing suits are required. Wearing your suit under warm layers is recommended.

Additional notes:
Guests are encouraged to hydrate and take breaks as needed. Sauna use involves heat and humidity. Please avoid alcohol prior to the session.

Guests may bring food and beverages to their session and enjoy outdoors between rounds lake and fire-side. We highly recommend ordering from one of the local restaurants, including Bodin’s next door and The St. James Social just up the way.

Photography and video may be taken during the event for marketing and archival use. Please let your host know if you prefer to be off-camera when a photographer is on-site. We respect all requested anonymity.
